On 18 September, Estonia’s first Honorary Consulate in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was inaugurated with a reception.
The Estonian Honorary Consul, Ms. Amila Lagumdžija, works for the largest information technology company in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The opening ceremony was addressed by the Estonian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Raul Toomas, the Director General of the Economic Diplomacy Department of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Priit Kallakas, the Deputy Minister for Bilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Momir Brajić and Honorary Consul Ms. Amila Lagumdžija.
The appointment of an Honorary Consul in Sarajevo will create better opportunities for Estonian companies to enter the rapidly developing market of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We see the greatest potential in bilateral relations in the fields of education and information technology.
